The NFL’s record books could be set for a rewrite this season after **Cam Little**, the Jaguars’ second-year kicker, drilled a staggering 70-yard field goal to close out the first half in a preseason clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The strike would have shattered the league’s all-time mark had it come in a regular-season game, but Baltimore’s **Justin Tucker** remains the official record-holder with a 66-yarder in Detroit in 2021.
But Little’s effort, launched as time expired with the [Jaguars](https://www.mediaite.com/tag/jacksonville-jaguars/) trailing 14-9, flew high, true, and through by several yards, landing neatly in the ball boy’s hands. Little pumped his fist the moment it cleared the uprights as rookie **Travis Hunter** met Little midair in a chest bump.
The sixth-round pick from Arkansas has already proven his accuracy. As a rookie in 2024, he [hit](https://nypost.com/2025/08/09/sports/jaguars-cam-little-hits-70-yard-field-goal-in-preseason-game/) 27 of 29 field-goal attempts with a long of 59 yards. But this, even if technically meaningless in the record books, will raise his stock sharply heading into the season.
For Jacksonville, the 31-25 preseason loss may fade quickly from memory but for Little, the only question remains is whether he’ll get the chance to do it when it counts.
