A new-look Liverpool will have their first test of the season against Crystal Palace in the Community Shield on Sunday, but ITV won't be broadcasting the match.

Oliver Glasner's Eagles shocked everyone in May by defeating Manchester City in the FA Cup final. Eberechi Eze scored the only goal of the game, securing Palace's first-ever major trophy and setting up a Community Shield showdown with Arne Slot's Premier League champions, Liverpool.

However, UK fans hoping to watch the game on free-to-air television will be left disappointed. For the first time in four years, the Community Shield won't be aired on ITV.

Here, the Daily Star Sport provides all the details on how to watch the Community Shield this weekend, including where the match is taking place and what time it kicks off.

Previously known as the Charity Shield, the Community Shield is an annual football match that pits the winners of the previous season's FA Cup and Premier League against each other. This year, it will be Crystal Palace, who beat Manchester City to clinch the FA Cup, and Liverpool, last season's league champions, vying for the Community Shield.

Established in 1908, the FA donates the proceeds from the match to community projects and charitable causes nationwide. Last year's Community Shield was won by Manchester City, who triumphed over local rivals Manchester United in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw.

The Red Devils hold the record for the most victories in the competition's history, having hoisted the trophy 21 times. This will be Crystal Palace's maiden appearance in the contest, as the club has yet to win the top-flight league title and only secured its first FA Cup last season.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have claimed the Community Shield 16 times, with their most recent triumph being a 3-1 victory over Man City in 2022.
