Julio Enciso is stepping up his recovery process from a knee operation in Argentina.
The [Albion](https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/) forward is reported in Paraguay to be heading back to Brighton this week.
He had surgery to ease pain in his knee recently and has recently returned to his surgeon in Buenos Aires to have stitches removed.
Enciso does not appear to have any part in Fabian Hurzeler’s plans for the coming campaign.
But, equally, he appears to face a race against time follow Evan Ferguson out on loan.
A rapid return would help him secure a move and could also see him play a part in helping Paraguay secure their World Cup finals spot.
Enciso met with national team boss Gustavo Alfaro on Friday to discuss his situation.
Alfaro said: “He is working hard and a bit hoping to sort out his future.”
Paraguay face Ecuador and Peru in their final World Cup qualifiers and need a maximum of one point.

While media are hopeful on Enciso, they were put into a state of alarm when Diego Gomez left Albion’s friendly against Wolfsburg early.
Speaking soon after the final whistle, Seagulls head coach Hurzeler said he was not aware of any injuries.
While Gomez appeared in pain initially, he was walking unaided and fairly normally on the way to the bench.
