Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund is reportedly ready to leave the club this summer but has rejected a move to one club this transfer window.
MEN Sport reported this week, prior to the Benjamin Sesko transfer being completed, that the Dane was open to leaving the Reds if it became apparent that his playing time would be adversely affected. Hojlund has continuously insisted that he wants to remain at United but the decision appears to have been taken from him.
On Saturday, Hojlund did not play a single minute for the Reds in their 1-1 draw with Fiorentina. Ruben Amorim chose to start Mason Mount in a false nine role instead of utilising the former Atalanta man.
Today, talkSPORT has corroborated our story from earlier this week and suggested that Hojlund has 'U-turned' on his stance of remaining at Old Trafford no matter what. They add that Bundesliga club RB Leipzig tried to negotiate a separate deal with United for Hojlund this summer as Sesko completed his move to the Premier League.
However, this did not progress any further because Hojlund was not keen on a switch to the German club. Now, the attention has turned to AC Milan and their possible interest in the striker.
It is widely understood that the Serie A giants like Hojlund and see him as a player with plenty of potential having impressed on his last stint in Italy. While United would rather sell the Dane permanently, with the figure of £40m suggested as an asking price, Milan are thought to be keen on a loan move with an option to buy.
Whether this is something that United are open to negotiating, remains to be seen. However, the only certainty is that by September 1, Hojlund's future will be decided one way or another.
