Will Arsenal Win the Elusive EPL Title This Season?

After so many years, Arsenal fans are expecting a fascinating new season of the EPL from this midweek of August. The summer transfer window is still open and the English clubs have broken their respective banks without any hesitation. While defending champions Liverpool probably have spent the most in the entire Europe, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal aren’t far behind. With the latest signing of Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal have already spent £200 million in this single transfer window. The intention is very clear from the start, which is to clinch the title this season. Since the ‘Invincible Era’, Arsenal have miserably bottled every championship since then.

Arsenal Must Not Bottle Again in the EPL

There is no doubt that the English Premier League is the toughest league in the world. The speed and structure of the league are too high to manage. As a result of this, the league has a famous saying that every club can beat any the other club on any given day. Apart from the giants from Spain, Germany and Italy, the English heavyweights run the show in European football. Among these heavyweights, North London-based Arsenal have been on the list for decades now. They are still the only English club to win the EPL being unbeaten. But in these past years, Arsenal have failed to do justice to their rich history. After the long service of club legend, Mr. Arsene Wenger, only Unai Emery tried to build something with the team. Now, for the last 5 years, former Spain international and club legend Mikel Arteta has taken the job in hand. Brick by brick, he has built his own team. For the last 3 years, Arsenal have once again become consistent in qualifying for the European football. Arteta’s side has also fought for the title neck to neck with Manchester City and Liverpool. But still, the Gunners have failed in the last lap. Even in the last season, Arsenal were having a steady run in the title race, leaving behind Liverpool. But suddenly from the second part of the league, Arsenal began to lose the rhythm. Finally, they bottled their chances once again. This season, Arsenal must maintain their form throughout the season.

Ambitious Arsenal Need to be Flawless

Arsenal is an ambitious club. But the problem is that they become overambitious quickly and thus they make unforgivable mistakes. If they want to make this season memorable, Mikel Arteta and his boys need to check their faults. First of all, it is the management’s foremost duty to keep their players fit all the time. Even if someone gets injured, the medical team need to act wisely. The players sustained long-term injuries one after one last season. Important players like Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Ben White and Calafiori were unavailable for most of the season. A time came when Arsenal had a crisis of a genuine box striker. Arteta had to turn defensive midfielder Mikel Merino into a makeshift striker for some of the matches. This should not happen again. To avoid this crisis from happening again, Arteta must keep rotating the players. The next thing that the Arsenal footballers need to take care of is to follow discipline strictly. Players were prone to receiving unnecessary cards throughout the league. For example, Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard were shown red cards for kicking the ball away. This can break the flow of the team. According to the stats, Arsenal significantly dropped 10 points from matches where they were at a disadvantage.

Four EPL Teams Are Here to Upset Arsenal This Season

Arsenal won’t have an easy run at the title as four other big clubs are also serious contenders to win the EPL title this season. Other than the Gunners, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and shockingly Manchester United. Liverpool have changed the game totally. The Reds have added some incredible players to their roster. Florian Wirtz, Jeremy Frimpong and the signing of Hugo Ekitike are all buzzing with the rest of the players to dominate the league and win the UEFA Champions League. Whereas, Manchester City will look to bounce back after having a disappointing season. Guardiola has got a new team in his hands. The FIFA Club World Cup champions are probably the dark horse of this league. With an energetic and solid young squad, the Blues are ready to challenge Arsenal. Lastly, the inclusion of Manchester United has somewhat shocked the fans. With the new attacking line consisting of Cunha, Mbuemo and Sesko, Ruben Amorim’s biggest job will be to finish in a Champions League spot. Other clubs like Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur will also give a tough fight.

From the Author’s End: EPL Is About to Start

All the teams have almost finished their pre-season campaign as the new season of the highly anticipated English Premier League is going to kick off on 16th August. Arsenal will start their season against Manchester United on 17th August.
