Chelsea lead 2-0 at Stamford Bridge!
After an own goal gave the Blues the lead, Joao Pedro has kept up his superb scoring form by adding the second. The Brazilian scored a header after a cross from Pedro Neto to get Stamford Bridge on its feet once again.

It was a really clever cross from Neto, who used his left foot as he cut in from the right but managed to flight it perfectly into the path of the advancing Joao Pedro who was left criminally unmarked by the Milan defence and just had to glance a header home.
This team look really menacing right now. Perhaps it will all come back to bite us later in the season, but right now the Club World Cup has looked more like a boost than a hindrance – these players are picking up right where they left off and are humming.

Joao Pedro looks more and more like the new Diego Costa
Chelsea fans have waited so, so long for a reliable, dominant number 9 to lead the line and score goals. Since Diego Costa 10 years ago it’s been a battle with so many false dawns.
We don’t want to jinx it – we all remember how excited some people got over Alvaro Morata – but Joao Pedro has had by far the most promising start to a Chelsea striker’s career since Costa. And he’s not even played a Premier League game yet.
His form since the moment he pulled on the Blue shirt has been sensational – let’s hope he keeps it rolling right into the season. He’s scored 5 in 5 now. Let’s make it 6 in 6 next weekend!
