West Ham chairman David Sullivan deserves huge credit for the Mads Hermansen deal.
The 76-year-old is a controversial figure at the London Stadium, having made several poor calls in his ownership spell.
The move from Upton Park, concerns about the financial situation and a dismal recent record in the transfer market are just a few of the things held against the veteran businessman.
However, on this occasion, West Ham supporters should be praising Sullivan after the latest details emerged on the deal for the Leicester goalkeeper.

Sullivan has pulled off a brilliant deal for West Ham
There is no doubt that Sullivan has pulled off a rare masterclass when it comes to West Ham’s latest signing, Hermansen.

A report from talkSPORT’s Alex Crook (10 August) claims that the fee for Hermansen is around the £15million mark.
Reports had previously put the fee closer to the £18m mark, which is a £3m discrepancy
That represents a brilliant negotiation on behalf of the chairman, who is currently in charge of transfers for the Irons and should win him some fans back after his previous hiccups.
West Ham cannot slow down after the Hermansen deal
While Sullivan has secured a great addition with the experienced Premier League goalkeeper, it cannot be the end of their business.
Hermansen played 27 times in the top-flight last season, keeping one clean sheet and conceding 58 goals.
Graham Potter’s side is still light in the forward areas, although they are reportedly closing on the signing of FC Metz star Idrissa Gueye.
They have signed El Hadji Malick Diouf, Kyle Walker-Peters and Callum Wilson as well as the Foxes stopper, giving the ex-Brighton man some vital squad depth.
However, there are still improvements that need to be made to the starting line-up before the start of the new campaign, with recruits needed in midfield and on the flanks.
With three weeks left in the transfer window, there is still time to act and bring sufficient quality into the E20 club.
However, Sullivan deserves a rare bit of credit after the figures of the Hermansen deal emerged, as the fee that the Irons will pay is excellent for a player of his ability.
