Manchester United starlets Toby Collyer and Harry Amass are supposedly on Sheffield Wednesday's radar following the end of their transfer embargo.
The two up-and-coming youngsters both made strong impressions under Ruben Amorim last season, with Amass impressing at left-back and Collyer emerging as a genuine midfield option.
There was even talk of the latter being involved in an audacious player-plus-cash deal for Brighton & Hove Albion's Carlos Baleba, although Man United supposedly have no interest in such a transaction.
The Red Devils are still believed to be in talks to sign Baleba, though, and the arrival of the former Lille man or indeed another midfielder would bump Collyer further down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
However, the 21-year-old could enjoy regular first-team football in the Championship next season, as talkSPORTreports that Sheffield Wednesday want to sign both him and Amass in the current window.

On Friday, the Owls saw their EFL transfer embargo lifted amid their ownership crisis, although they remain under a transfer-fee ban while a takeover is yet to be completed.
Sheffield Wednesday could look to strike loan deals for both Collyer and Amass, though, as both players are expected to be given the green light to leave Old Trafford on a temporary deal this summer.
Collyer - a former Brighton youth product - has made 13 senior appearances for Man United in all competitions, including six substitute outings in the 2024-25 Premier League season.
Meanwhile, 18-year-old Amass was involved in seven senior matches last season, but he is one of five left-backs in the Red Devils' ranks at present following the signing of Diego Leon.
Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu are also competing for minutes on that side of the field, while Tyrell Malacia has returned from a loan spell at PSV Eindhoven but has no future at the Theatre of Dreams.
Man Utd transfer news: Would loaning out Collyer be a mistake?

Left-back and attack are the two areas that need no addressing at Old Trafford right now, but Amorim is short of genuine deep-lying midfield options, and Collyer is one of them.
Casemiro did play his way back into his manager's good books towards the end of last season, but he is now 33 years old and could soon experience a physical decline, while Manuel Ugarte has not set the world alight either.
Furthermore, Kobbie Mainoo is yet to find his true calling at Old Trafford, and Collyer would almost certainly be a prominent part of the first team next season, presuming he stayed fit and impressed Amorim on the training pitches.
As Brighton are supposedly demanding £104m for Baleba, and Man United are not in firm talks with any other lynchpins, it is not impossible to envisage them ending the window without a new midfielder in the ranks.
In that scenario, letting Collyer head out on loan could be a mistake, although a temporary exit would undoubtedly be best for his development if Baleba or another engine room enforcer signs.
