Nottingham Forest remain busy in the transfer market as the Premier League season approaches, with Evangelos Marinakis pushing to sign a player he’s worked with before.
Forest fans haven’t been best pleased with pre-season after only one goal in seven games, a run that has included five goalless draws.
Off the pitch, though, Marinakis has been busy making positive moves, with Morgan Gibbs-White signing a new contract the biggest news alongside the signing of Swiss international winger Dan Ndoye.
Marinakis played a key role in securing Ndoye amid a battle with Napoli for his signature, and the Forest owner is about to attempt a similar move to secure a Premier League winner.

Evangelos Marinakis to lead push to sign Konstantinos Tsimikas
Above anything, Nuno Espírito Santo will be desperate to sign full-backs to ensure that both Neco Williams and Ola Aina are sufficiently supported as the Reds embark on their European journey.
Reports have suggested that Forest are preparing an offer for Leif Davis of Ipswich Town on the left side but face competition from other Premier League sides for his signature. With this in mind, Marinakis has turned his attention to Greek compatriot Konstantinos Tsimikas.
According to Greek outlet Sportime: “Forest have long expressed a desire to acquire the Greek full-back [Tsimikas]. Evangelos Marinakis would like the player he had at Olympiacos in the Premier League.”

Marinakis saw Tsimikas break into the Olympiacos squad back in 2015, before cementing his place three years later, before a £11.75m move to Liverpool in 2020.
He’s never been a regular starter on Merseyside but has always provided reliable support to Andrew Robertson at left-back. However, with Liverpool signing Milos Kerkez this summer, the Greek star’s time at Anfield looks to be at an end.
Konstantinos Tsimikas has been phased out at Liverpool
The 29-year-old has won the FA Cup and the Premier League in his five seasons at the club, which will have made the reduced role more palatable, but it seems as if Tsimikas has little to no chance of a future at Liverpool.
Tsimikas was left out of Arne Slot’s squad for the Community Shield on Sunday with new man Kerkez in the starting line-up, highlighting beyond doubt that his services aren’t required at the club anymore.
Therefore, if Marinakis can find a fee that is acceptable to Liverpool, it looks to be a deal that would suit all parties.
