EXCLUSIVE: What Rasmus Hojlund now thinks about his Man United future after Benjamin Sesko's arrival

Rasmus Hojlund has accepted that he is likely to leave Manchester United this summer, TBR Football understands, as interest ramps up over his services.

It comes as the Red Devils have worked hard to reshape their front line, after a season of struggles in front of goal.

Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo were the first two additions of the summer for Manchester United, handing some new number tens to Ruben Amorim.

While Premier League experience was the route for those additions, Man United’s move for Benjamin Sesko has come with a gamble on his future ability.

He isn’t the first promising young centre-forward the Old Trafford outfit have purchased in recent seasons, though, with Rasmus Hojlund one of those who was in a similar mould.

Now, however, after a few difficult seasons, the Danish international could be set for an exit from the club as talks ramp up over a possible move.

Rasmus Hojlund accepts he is set to leave Man United as AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus enter transfer frame

With the arrival of Sesko, Hojlund looks likely to leave Man United, with interest firming up over a potential move.

While the striker has wanted to fight for his place, with Hojlund publicly backing himself to stay, there is seemingly an acceptance that he could leave.

Several clubs are in the picture for the 22-year-old, and TBR Football understands that AC Milan have held talks about Rasmus Hojlund, and we can confirm they are open to the prospect of signing him along with Dusan Vlahovic.

The Rossoneri have been keeping tabs on both strikers this summer, with Max Allegri believing there is room for both players.

While Hojlund has publicly stated his desire to stay at Man United and fight for his place, TBR Football understands that the forward has accepted he is likely to leave after the arrival of Sesko.

AC Milan have been in contact, but there has been interest from Inter Milan, while Juventus cannot be ruled out as a possible destination.

Man United would prefer a sale, but realise that a loan is the most likely option.

TBR Football transfer expert Graeme Bailey gave some more insight into the situation, stating: “Hojlund is not part of the ‘bomb’ squad at United – but there is an acceptance that he is set to leave – his chances were already looking limited before Sesko’s arrival.

“Talks are ongoing and I am told that AC Milan are now thinking that they could take Hojlund as well as Vlahovic in theory. City rivals Inter can’t be ruled out if they manage to move on Mehdi Teremi, which looks likely.

“And Juve, who are struggling to finalise a deal for Randal Kolo Muani, can’t be ruled out.”

With a loan seeming likely, there will be some hope that a return to Serie A can relaunch Hojlund’s career.

Rasmus Hojlund’s record in Italy before joining Manchester United

For both club and player, there is a real hope that a loan move can help re-ignite the forward’s career.

Hojlund had plenty of promise when Man United signed him from Atalanta in 2023, and there is some of that still there if he can harness it elsewhere.

The 22-year-old only had a short spell in Italy, managing just 34 appearances for his club before making the Premier League switch.

With ten goals and four assists over that period, there were some small signs of what could be a fruitful career.

There is some hope now that a move back to Italy can help turn those fortunes around, with AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus all in the mix.
