The Bulls offered Giddey a four-year, $80 million deal when free agency opened on June 30, but Giddey is aiming for a salary closer to $30 million per year—significantly higher than Chicago’s current offer in the $20 million range.
Despite the ongoing negotiations, Giddey has attracted attention from multiple Eastern Conference teams, with several front offices reaching out to explore sign-and-trade possibilities.
However, rival executives admit that engaging the Bulls in trade talks has proven difficult, as Chicago has signaled it is not eager to entertain sign-and-trade offers at this time.

The Bulls’ reputation as a tough trade partner has only grown in recent years. League insiders say other teams have struggled to determine whether Chicago is looking to move veteran players, especially during recent trade deadlines.
Last season, Giddey showcased his all-around game by averaging 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per contest, while shooting 46.5% from the field and 37.8% from beyond the arc.
