Louis Riddick Sends 7-Word Message To Rams Rookie

The Los Angeles Rams are more than familiar with late-draft gems.

It’s come to a point where most people simply assume that whoever they get in the mid to late rounds of the NFL Draft will turn out to be a steal.

That might be the case with WR Konata Mumpfield this season.

That’s why, after watching him shine in limited snaps in Saturday’s preseason opener vs. the Dallas Cowboys, former NFL player Louis Riddick had a simple message for him:

“Solid night. Get healthy. Onward and upward,” Riddick wrote on X while reposting a Rams video of Mumpfield.

That’s also because Mumpfield left the game with an ankle injury.

Even so, judging by the way he was walking and moving around, chances are that Sean McVay decided to pull him out of the game just for precautionary reasons.

He would’ve most likely stayed in the game if this weren’t just a preseason contest.

Before leaving, he secured two of five targets for 24 yards, including an 18-yard touchdown reception.

Mumpfield has been one of the biggest talking points from Rams training camp this season, and he could be in for a big role right out of the gate.

This team has made a living out of finding and developing intriguing talents in the NFL Draft.

They jeopardized most of their future with the big trades they made to make a Super Bowl run, but unlike most teams that do so, they never went through an actual rebuild.

Now, Mumpfield could be just the latest addition in a long list of talented and hard-working players who have somehow slipped through the cracks of the NFL Draft.
