Newcastle United have agreed a deal to sign England U16 defender Isaac Moran after he left Liverpool, according to Fabrizio Romano.
It's been a disappointing summer transfer window for Newcastle, struggling to get deals over the line as their Premier League rivals swoop in and secure targets. Alexander Isak's future has been the topic of much speculation in recent weeks, adding to the frustration from the supporters at St James' Park.
Aaron Ramsdale, who joined on loan from Southampton, and Anthony Elanga, who has signed on a permanent deal from Nottingham Forest, are Newcastle's only two senior additions so far. Romano recently confirmed that the Magpies have secured the signing of AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw, pending official confirmation.

Reporting on X, Romano has confirmed that an agreement is now done between Newcastle and Moran, who has recently left Liverpool. The England U16 talent will join the Magpies officially in the upcoming days.
Speaking on the defender, The Secret Scout confirmed that although Moran has played as a midfielder over the years with Liverpool, Newcastle see him as a centre-back long term. A highly rated talent, Moran was going to find it difficult to break through at Liverpool, and the Magpies see the youngster as a centre-back due to already having Rory Finneran as an up-and-coming midfielder.
Although Newcastle supporters will be desperately hoping to see some senior additions come through the door in the coming days and weeks, securing the signatures of some of the best talents in England will be hugely beneficial in the long run. The North East club are unlikely to see the benefits of bringing players such as Moran through the door in the short term, but they'll likely be able to make a hefty profit in the future if he progresses as expected.
