Alongside Sesko and Baleba: Man Utd to make formal bid to sign 'magical' star, could be a…

Manchester United's summer spending may not be done yet, despite splashing just under £200million on a new attacking front line - and manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly set his eyes on a midfielder as the Red Devils aim to turn their poor form around from last season.

Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo has made the move to Old Trafford after a 20-goal Premier League season, whilst Wolverhampton Wanderers hero Matheus Cunha has joined after sustained spells of success in the west Midlands - and with RB Leipzig starlet Benjamin Sesko completing the jigsaw, that means that attacking recruits likely won't be required. And with that in mind, Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara has been touted for a move to the Red Devils.

Report: Man Utd 'Set to Make Bid' to Sign Gabriel Sara

Gabriel Sara

The report by Turkish outlet Takvim states that United are making a move to sign the Galatasaray midfielder, who has impressed in the Super Lig ever since his move from Norwich City.

United are set to make a 'formal offer' to the Turkish champions in the coming days, with the publication suggesting that although Galatasaray don't want to sell their 'magical' midfield maestro, they will negotiate if they receive a fee in the region of £34million, having only signed him from Norwich for around £20million.

United will have competition from other Premier League sides, with Sara - who made 45 appearances for the club last season with 10 assists to boot - making a real impression on the Eurasia border, but United are named as an interested party.

A sticking point could be that his contract runs out in 2029, but with other targets such as Brighton star Carlos Baleba being linked for three times the amount, that could see the Red Devils save a serious amount of money by strengthening the same position, saving vital funds or being able to add recruits in other positions.

Sara and Sesko Would be Superb for United

Manchester United’s Plan For Unveiling Benjamin Sesko Revealed

While Baleba already has 61 appearances at Premier League level, if he was to cost £100million, it would be a huge outlay from United which would almost certainly hinder their ability to bring players in elsewhere.

Sara would be an incredible addition regardless. The Sao Paulo academy graduate joined Norwich in 2022 after their relegation from the Premier League for around £6million, and although he never got a fair crack of the whip in the Premier League thanks to Norwich's downfalls in the league, his second campaign at the club saw him score 13 goals in 45 games from the centre of midfield - an incredible tally.

He's an all-action midfielder, and whilst maybe not as defensively astute as Baleba, he's evidently great going forward, which could be ideal for Amorim as he aims to revolutionise his squad after a poor campaign on all domestic fronts last time out.

At 26 years of age and with at least some experience in England, and at one-third of Baleba's price, he could also provide new signing Sesko with chances and creativity is a must at Old Trafford, with only Everton and the three relegated sides scoring less than United in the league last season.
