28-year-old has just sacked his agent, keen on Manchester United move

Former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is keen on joining Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United ahead of the new season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has parted ways with his representatives and will now handle all negotiations himself. According to a report from The Sun, the former Everton striker has his heart set on a move to Manchester United. While he is available for free, a move to Old Trafford still looks very unlikely.

Calvert-Lewin came up the ranks at Sheffield United before joining the Toffees back in 2016. He went from strength to strength after moving to the Merseyside club and established himself as one of their mainstays.

However, things haven’t been that great for him in the recent past, as he has struggled with injuries and hasn’t been in the best of form. He spent the majority of the 2024/25 season on the sidelines because of a hamstring injury and could only manage three goals in his 26 league outings.

He ended his nine-year stint at Everton at the end of last season following the expiry of his contract. While the 28-year-old expected several offers from top clubs on the back of his impressive past performances in the top flight, things haven’t worked out as he remains a free agent.

Calvert-Lewin wants Manchester United move

Having struggled to secure a move, Calvert-Lewin has parted ways with his agents and is now set to handle negotiations himself. The former Everton ace is keen on joining Manchester United. While the Red Devils were ready to fork out a big fee to sign him back in the day, things are quite different at this point.

While they were in need of a new number nine, Ruben Amorim’s team have splashed the cash to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig in a deal worth £74 million. Apart from the Slovenian international, they already have Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund in their squad.

The Red Devils have enough options up top and don’t really need Calvert-Lewin. However, with Hojlund linked with a move away, things could take a turn in the coming weeks. United are ready to offload him, with AC Milan leading the race for his signature.

If he ends up leaving, United can look at the English striker as an ideal backup for Sesko. However, his recent form and injury track record suggest it could be a massive gamble.
