Darwin Nunez has issued an emotional goodbye message after officially completing a move away from Liverpool.

The Uruguay international left the Reds on Saturday to complete a permanent move to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.

Liverpool agreed a deal worth an initial £46 million with the potential for the fee to reach £56m with add-ons for Nunez to complete a move to Saudi Arabia.

The deal saw Nunez's three-year spell at Anfield come to an end, which has seen the striker score 40 goals across 143 appearances.

Nunez's final appearance for Liverpool saw him feature in last week's friendly win over Athletic Club, where he scored in the 4-1 victory in the first fixture of the double-header at Anfield.

Now, the striker has sent a message to Reds supporters as he bids farewell to the Anfield faithful.

"Thank you, Liverpool. Three years on, it's time to say goodbye," said Nunez in an emotional message on social media.

"I'll take with me countless memories that will live with me forever. I leave with a full heart, thanks to the love of a crowd that never let me down and always had my back - through the highs and through the lows.

"Liverpool will always be part of who I am. I'll miss you more than words can say. To all the staff and my teammates - thank you, and all the very best for the future. YNWA."

Nunez posted the message on Instagram which has received more than 170,000 likes including from Liverpool players Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Conor Bradley and Stefan Bajcetic.
