All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Arsenal as they prepare for the start of the new season.

Arsenal are now just days away from the start of their new Premier League campaign. The Gunners have been very busy in the summer transfer window, and it is almost time for them to back up their big summer investments, with the pressure on Mikel Arteta to deliver a Premier League title this season.

Although, we could yet see further changes to the Arsenal squad, with another incoming likely, while we are likely to see a number of exits. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Eze update

Arsenal are said to be close to striking an agreement for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, but the deal will be held up based on one key factor. According to Football Transfer, the Gunners are willing to pay around £55million for Eze with £30million being paid upfront.

Palace could accept those terms, or at least similar terms, but according to the report, they will not sanction a sale until they have found a replacement for Eze. That means this particular transfer saga could run into the later weeks of the window. Arsenal may be willing to play the waiting game given Eze is seen as the last piece of the jigsaw barring any exits involving players who are currently regularly involved. Eze played for Palace in Sunday’s Community Shield.

Jesus tipped for exit

Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus has been backed to leave the club as he recovers from his ACL injury. “I think somebody like Gabriel Jesus might go given his track record with injuries,” Gunners legend Alan Smith told the Metro. “He might be one that you say, thanks, and try and move him on, get a bit of money in. Obviously, with Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz, there might not be too many opportunities for him this season.”

Arsenal may well look to sell Jesus in the winter transfer window, but with the striker out until early winter with a serious knee injury, he is not going to pass a medical during this window.

Arteta on new signings

Arteta spoke after Arsenal’s win over Bayer Leverkusen, praising the increased quality within his squad. He said: “In every position now, we have a different quality, a lot of players that can play in various positions as well with a lot of versatility, bringing different kinds of qualities and threats to the team. So, we're going to manage that in the best possible way to maintain everybody with the right cohesion, hunger and the fact that at any moment we can change the puzzle and make it very difficult for the opposition.

“I’m very pleased with the performance, with the way we play as a team, the cohesion, the fluidity, the dynamism and the level of threat that we were able to provide throughout the game. A lot of big individual performances as well and I'm very pleased with the result and the clean sheet. Very happy with [it all].”

On the influence of Martin Zubimendi, the Spaniard added: “The quality of the delivery from Zubi, absolutely top. I think he was incredible today, the way he played throughout the game and for Viktor as well to get out that first goal I think is very, very important psychologically. Again, he was involved in a lot of very important actions in the game. Kai came in and scored an incredible goal as well. So, I'm very happy with the team today.”
