Tottenham have opened talks to sign Manchester City forward Savinho, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
Thomas Frank has reportedly identified the 'incredible' Brazilian international as an ‘ideal’ reinforcement on the wing and Spurs are now pushing for a deal, with club-to-club negotiations ongoing.
Savinho is believed to be open to the move to north London if the clubs can agree on a fee, with Romano claiming the transfer could cost as much as £70m.
GIVEMESPORT were first to report Tottenham’s concrete interest in Savinho, with journalist Dean Jones revealing that the Lilywhites have flagged the Brazilian internally as a player they admire.
Spurs are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements following former captain Son Heung-min’s departure to MLS side Los Angeles FC and James Maddison’s injury, which could keep him sidelined for the whole 2025/26 campaign.
The England international suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the pre-season draw against Newcastle in South Korea earlier this month and is expected to be out for six to seven months.
A deal worth around £70m for Savinho would make him Tottenham’s record signing, surpassing the £65m the club spent on former Bournemouth forward Dominic Solanke last summer.
The Lilywhites have splashed out £55m on Mohammed Kudus’ arrival this window and also secured permanent deals for Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel.
Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha is the latest arrival in north London, having joined from the German champions on a season-long loan with a £26m option to buy.
Savinho, meanwhile, would bring versatility to Frank’s squad, as he is able to play on either wing, having been rotated heavily between the flanks by Pep Guardiola last term.
The 21-year-old forward made 48 appearances for City in 2024/25, scoring three goals and providing 13 assists, with 11 of the goal contributions coming in the Premier League.
