Everton could push to sign Leicester defender James Justin before the transfer window closes.

With Ashley Young leaving, the Toffees are down on defensive troops on the right going into the 2025/26 Premier League season.

Also, Seamus Coleman’s age and fitness issues have led to David Moyes pushing for more bodies at full-back.

Fulham defender Kenny Tete was a priority, but he ended up signing a new deal at Craven Cottage.

Justin available for £6m fee this summer

Former Everton scout Bryan King claimed that Everton will need to pay £15million to sign Justin.

However, the Liverpool Echo reported on 10 August that it will cost them significantly less than that to secure the 27-year-old’s services.

The news outlet claims that he has been suggested to the Merseyside club and could be available for only £6million.

The English full-back, who has made 99 Premier League appearances, only has another year left to run on his contract at the King Power Stadium.

Everton must look to sign Justin at this bargain fee

Justin would be an astute signing for Everton at £6m, bringing Premier League experience and versatility to bolster their defence.

The 27-year-old Leicester City full-back has 99 Premier League appearances, showcasing his ability to thrive in England’s top flight with four goals and seven assists.

His capability to play both right-back and left-back offers Moyes tactical flexibility, addressing Everton’s need for reliable cover with ageing full-backs like Coleman.

Justin’s athleticism suits Moyes’ counterattacking, defensively solid system.

His attacking contributions, including precise crossing and overlapping runs, can enhance Everton’s wing play.

At £6million, Justin is a bargain, making him a cost-effective addition to stabilise Everton’s backline and push for a mid-table or potentially top-half finish while avoiding relegation.

He can compete with the likes of Nathan Patterson and Jake O’Brien, and also provide cover at left-back, making him a utility player.
