Tottenham have a very talented squad at Thomas Frank’s disposal that could still do with some reinforcements. The Danish tactician might want a new attacking midfielder this summer, after the ACL injury to James Maddison.
The English international, who wears the #10 at Spurs, suffered a cruel injury against Newcastle United. It was later confirmed that he had suffered an ACL injury and is set to be out for the next 6-7 months if not more.
To make things worse, Spurs’ backup #10, Dejan Kulusevski is also out injured and would take some time to come back into the fold. Thus, making a reinforcement this summer is absolutely key.

Tottenham set to rival Leeds for Bilal El Khannouss
Now, as per Give Me Sport (h/t Caught Offside), Tottenham are set to rival Leeds United to sign Leicester City attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss. The player might be let go for a bargain price of around €26million.
Leicester City went down back to the Championship and the relegation has seen the Moroccan playmaker become available for an absolute bargain price. The 21-year-old was one of the shining lights for the Foxes in the 2024/25 season.
Leeds United have just made the ascent to the Premier League but Spurs should be confident of beating the Yorkshire club to the Belgian-Moroccan midfielder. Earlier, even Arsenal were linked with a potential move for El Khannouss.
In desperate need for midfield creativity
Tottenham are desperately in need for creativity in the middle of the park. Maddison, for all his inconsistencies and injuries, was a difference maker when he was on song and the Moroccan can definitely help out in this regard.
At just 21, the Foxes attacking midfielder has a very high ceiling and could be a very smart acquisition for Spurs at that price. He can also be the long-term alternative to James Maddison, who has had his own share of injury history.
The Moroccan playmaker has been praised for having “eyes in his back” to explain the incredible vision that he possesses. Let’s wait and see how things play out on this front and if Tottenham make a move in the coming days.
