Ruben Amorim still wants more transfers

With less than a week to go until the Premier League kicks off again, Ruben Amorim is about to find out if his team has improved over the summer.

The Portuguese manager now has a new attacking line-up following the confirmation of Benjamin Sesko's signing, joining recent additions Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.

Sesko was introduced to fans ahead of the club's final friendly against Fiorentina at Old Trafford. While United didn't put on an exceptional performance, it marked a significant milestone in the run-up to the new season.

However, there's still work to be done. Rasmus Hojlund was included in the squad for the match but didn't play amidst rumours about his future, while United are still hoping to find clubs for Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho.

With this in mind, Daily Star Sporttakes a look at the latest news and transfer gossip surrounding Old Trafford.

Rasmus Hojlund appears to have accepted defeat and is considering leaving Manchester United after the arrival of Benjamin Sesko pushed him further down the pecking order, reports the Mirror.

Despite previously expressing his determination to fight for his place and dismissing the idea of a move to RB Leipzig, United have remained open to his departure. The forward is now more open to the idea of departing Old Trafford after AC Milan entered the fray, according to talkSPORT.

The Italian heavyweights are reportedly in discussions with United about a loan deal with an option to buy, which could see the Red Devils take a significant hit after shelling out over £70m just two years ago.

New twist in Sancho saga

Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho is reportedly on Atletico Madrid's radar as they look to bolster their squad in the final weeks of the transfer window. Fichajes reports that Diego Simeone is keen to strengthen his wide options and the Manchester United misfit is among those being considered.

Sancho seemed destined for Juventus but that move has stalled, while Borussia Dortmund have re-emerged as potential suitors.

The England international may yet have choices to weigh up, with Simeone said to view Sancho 'as a potential game-changer on the flanks' whose direct style fits a counter-attacking approach.

United have reportedly been in touch with the representatives of Brighton star Carlos Baleba over the weekend. United are keen to secure a deal with the player first, as they did with Benjamin Sesko, before finalising an agreement with the Seagulls.

Contract and wage details are still being discussed, while contact continues with Brighton, albeit not at an advanced stage. Baleba is believed to be interested in the move and United are eager to push the deal through, with personal terms not expected to pose a problem.

If their endeavours don't bear fruit in the upcoming weeks, anticipate a comeback next summer.
