Alejandro Garnacho's Manchester United career is almost over. The 21-year-old is expected to leave Old Trafford before the end of the summer after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim.
Garnacho was subject to a £60million offer from Napoli in January, but United decided to keep hold and, instead, allowed Marcus Rashford and Antony to join Jadon Sancho out on loan from Old Trafford.
While the Argentine impressed in patches, he was left out of the starting XI for the Europa League final against Tottenham in May, prompting a furious response from the player. Since, Garnacho, along with four teammates, has informed United of his desire to explore different opportunities this summer.
Chelsea are interested in a blockbuster deal for Garnacho and he has his sight set on a move to Stamford Bridge. The Blues remain in the market for a new left-sided forward, despite signing Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, and have Garnacho, who is valued at around £50m, high on their shopping list.
Now, Garnacho has provided a fresh update on his future, hinting that he is waiting on his move to Chelsea to go through. Indeed, the United man posted a picture on his Instagram story of him with his head in his hands and looking frustrated in the gym, alongside a hourglass emoji and three dots.
Garnacho did not travel with the rest of his United teammates on their pre-season tour in the United States and appears to be disheartened at the lack of movement on his future. He has often posted content from inside the gym during the summer, but this one showed his true emotion and feeling at the situation.
Although United want £50m for Garnacho, Chelsea believe they can negotiate a lower fee, based on the player's desire to leave and the fact the Reds need to sell if they want to strengthen other areas.
Garnacho scored 11 goals and added 10 assists 58 matches for the Reds last season and was one of their best players in Europe. It's no surprise that the ex-Atletico Madrid youth product has potential suitors.
Speaking about his future and frustration, following alack of game-time in the Europa League final, Garnacho said in a statement: "Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don't know.
"The final will influence [my decision] but the whole season, the situation of the club. I'm going to try to enjoy the summer and then see what happens afterwards."
