Harvey Elliott has 'agreed' a move to RB Leipzig
Harvey Elliott is reportedly close to moving from to RB Leipzig after agreeing personal terms, according to the latest report.
The German club had opened talks to secure his transfer after Elliott showcased his talent this summer with a starring role for England U-21s, helping them win the tournament and earning the Player of the Tournament award.
The 22-year-old, who was limited to first-team opportunities under , now looks set to join Leipzig. The Mirror reports that Elliott has agreed to a four-year contract, with believed to have played a key role in Leipzig’s pursuit.
It was the former Reds boss who brought the playmaker to Anfield from Fulham back in 2019. have also been linked with a move for Elliott as a replacement for James Maddison but must now act quickly if they are to try and hijack the transfer.
were early favourites to sign Elliott, with and Brighton also showing strong interest, but Leipzig have now emerged as the frontrunners.
During the Reds' pre-season tour in Asia, the midfielder was open about his status at the club. "If I had it my way I would be here for the rest of my career, it's as simple as that," he told The Wrap.
"I love everything about the club, but at the same time I kind of need to be selfish and see what's best for me. I have big ambitions. I want to get in the World Cup squad. I want to keep being successful as a player. It's something I still need to review."
