Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers very impressed by'quality'Chelsea player in big pre-season win vs AC Milan

Chelsea rounded off their short pre-season campaign in style as Stamford Bridge saw a glimpse of what is to come from their side in the upcoming season.

The Blues dominated AC Milan in West London, winning 4-1 against their opponents who went down to 10 men in the first half.

Some believe the side named by Enzo Maresca is going to be the one who starts the first Premier League game of the season against Crystal Palace, with one of those who began being Jamie Gittens.

Chelsea fans were impressed by Gittens, who did a good job on the left in an attack that also consisted of Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto and Joao Pedro.

Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers impressed by Liam Delap in Chelsea 4-1 AC Milan

The Brazilian found the net for the fourth consecutive Chelsea game, before his replacement, Liam Delap, scored twice in the second half.

The Englishman only joined the club at the start of the current transfer window, however was already under pressure due to the performances of Pedro. Micah Richards doesn’t think Delap will start for Chelsea at the start of the season.

This is why his two second half goals were very important, and left an impact on Palmer, as well as former teammate Morgan Rogers.

Liam Delap facing fight to start against Crystal Palace

Despite being Chelsea’s first signing of the summer and linked for a number of months before his move, there are no guarantees the Englishman starts the Premier League opener for the Blues.

Pedro didn’t want to admit he was competing with Delap, however both have excelled in the number nine role since joining Chelsea.

There is a chance that both could feature, with the former Brighton man featuring in a number of attacking positions since he moved to the Premier League.

The Blues will know of the former Ipswich Town man’s talents from facing him last season, when Paul Robinson described Delap as ‘quality’ (BBC Sport).
