Leeds United could potentially face difficulties in their approach for Nottingham Forest forward Jota Silva this transfer window.
The Portugal international joined the Tricky Trees from Vitoria Guimaraes last summer, but mostly came off the bench for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team in the previous campaign.
Silva has emerged as a target at Elland Road, with the West Bridgford outfit looking to get £12.9million from his sale.
After missing out on Igor Paixao to Olympique Marseille recently, the West Yorkshire outfit have turned their attention to alternative targets, but may have to work hard to acquire them.

Silva turns down Leeds United transfer offer
Silva has “given a clear signal” that he wants to return to Portugal and play for Sporting CP amid interest from Leeds, according to Correio de Manha.

The news outlet reports in its print edition (11 August, page 6) that the 26-year-old has rejected an offer from Elland Road as his goal is to play for the Primeira Liga club.
It’s been claimed that the Portuguese winger has no place at Forest, who are refusing loan offers and are only willing to sell the player this summer.
Sporting CP have so far attempted to sign the attacker on loan with an option to buy, and if they’re unwilling to match the Tricky Trees’ demands, the door could potentially still be open for the West Yorkshire outfit to swoop in.

Who are Leeds targeting this summer to reinforce their attack at Elland Road?
Leeds want Strasbourg forward Dilane Bakwa as they look to strengthen their front line in the final weeks of the transfer window.
The Ligue 1 outfit will only sell the 22-year-old Frenchman for around £30million, and it remains to be seen whether the Whites believe he’s worth that much money.
Roma striker Artem Dovbyk could also provide Daniel Farke with much-needed options in the number nine position, with the Ukrainian international on the radar at Elland Road.
Forest paid £5.9m for Silva last summer.
The 26-year-old can play across the front line.
The winger made 31 appearances in the Premier League last season, mainly as a substitute.
Leeds have sent Mateo Joseph on loan to Mallorca, while Patrick Bamford also doesn’t seem to be in the German manager’s plans for next season.
The Whites evidently lack depth up front and should focus on addressing that issue before the end of August.
Farke arguably won’t want to go into the Premier League campaign with a lack of firepower, which will undoubtedly be needed to avoid immediate relegation from the top flight.
