Player decides to not pursue negotiations after saying ‘no to Wolves’ – Fee deemed insufficient

At the weekend, Le Parisien reported Paris FC will face competition from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the race to sign FC Nantes’ Matthis Abline. They also stated the English club could soon make an offer for him.

Paris FC have seen their €25m bid get rejected by Nantes, who are said to be demanding €50m.

RMC Sport now provide the latest on Wolves’ efforts, which hasn’t been convincing to either the 22-year-old or his club.

It’s claimed Vítor Pereira’s side considered offering €25m to the Ligue 1 club for Abline. The haven’t tabled an offer yet, but this figure has been ‘deemed insufficient’ by Nantes as it’s far from their demand.

In the meantime, the striker ‘said no to Wolves’ and has decided not to pursue talks with the Premier League club. That’s because the Frenchman is prioritising staying in his own country, where Paris FC are keen.

RMC Sport points out the Ligue 1 newcomers have already seen Nantes turn down their €25m bid. It’s unclear whether Paris FC will return with a new offer, but Wolves seem to be out of the race to sign Abline.

The frontman scored 11 goals and registered two assists from 36 games last season.
