'Ready for what's…'– in-form Man Utd ace's spine-tingling message shows true look at his elite mindset

Marcus Rashford has now spoken out after the Manchester United loanee’s impact in the 5-0 demolition of Serie A side Como in the Joan Gamper Trophy clash.

The defending La Liga champions sent a clear-cut message ahead of the 2025-26 campaign with a dominating performance at the Estadi Johan Cruyff in Barcelona.

Hansi Flick’s men blew Como out of the water on Sunday and Marcus Rashford made his presence felt after the Manchester United player was deployed as the striker.

Fermin Lopez opened the scoring in the 21st minute before the 22-year-old Spain attacking midfielder netted his brace in the 35th minute of the contest.

Rashford picked up an assist after Raphinha found the back of the net for Hansi Flick’s side and Lamine Yamal put Barcelona 4-0 up before half-time.

Barcelona sealed their emphatic victory in the second half after Ferran Torres set up Lamine Yamal for the Spain wonderkid’s brace four minutes after the break.

Man Utd loanee Marcus Rashford sends a clear-cut message to Barcelona fans after the Joan Gamper Trophy win vs Como

Marcus Rashford’s performance as Barcelona’s lone striker came to an end at half-time after Barcelona manager Hansi Flick replaced him with Ferran Torres.

Flick turned to the 27-year-old Manchester United player as an alternative striking option after Robert Lewandowski was ruled out of action with a hamstring problem.

Rashford was lively for Barcelona against Como and the former Aston Villa forward missed a clear chance to add his name to the scoresheet during Sunday’s win.

Barcelona’s summer signing took to Instagram after the Joan Gamper Trophy win and Rashford told fans that he is “ready” for what is next at the Camp Nou.

“Good performance, good win,” Rashford wrote to his followers.

“Ready for what’s coming.”

All eyes are on Marcus Rashford for how the Man Utd player handles the 2025-26 La Liga season with Barcelona

Barcelona will kick off their La Liga title defence away from home and Flick’s men will be in action against Spanish side Real Mallorca on Saturday afternoon.

Rashford left United this summer after his return from Aston Villa and Barcelona agreed to take the England international out on a 12-month loan spell.

The Three Lions forward had hinted at his desire to play at the Camp Nou after falling out of favour with Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim in the 2024-25 season.

Barcelona are covering Rashford’s wages and the former Villa attacker has the opportunity to secure regular first-team minutes away from Old Trafford.

Rashford’s spell at the Spanish champions is also his ‘audition’ for whether Barcelona exercise their option to make his transfer permanent to the Camp Nou in 2026.
