Fabrizio Romano Claims Man United Have Issued £9.6M Transfer Demand

Manchester United will only let Rasmus Hojlund leave on loan under certain conditions, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The impending arrival of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig has left the Dane’s future at Old Trafford in doubt. AC Milan have been mentioned as a potential suitor for Hojlund but Romano says any deal hinges on the Rossoneri agreeing to pay his wages and a sizeable loan fee:

“Manchester United have definitely opened doors to [a] loan move for Rasmus Højlund, as revealed yesterday. On the other hand, Hojlund insists on staying at United!”

“AC Milan, in contact with agents to advance. United want [a] heavy loan fee around €6m + full salary covered.”

Hojlund reportedly takes home £4.4m a year, and combined with the €6m (£5.2m) fee, United are essentially asking for £9.6m to cover the cost of a season-long loan.

The forward has made it clear that he wants to remain at United

Speaking to the press last week, Hojlund was adamant that he would be going nowhere this summer, but he may have to accept the reality that he is not part of Ruben Amorim’s first-team plans.

Sesko will clearly be first choice, while Joshua Zirkzee, Chido Obi and even Matheus Cunha can provide cover through the middle if required.

What’s the latest on Sesko’s move to Old Trafford?

The Red Devils have agreed to pay a fee totalling £74m for the Slovenian international, and he flew in to have his medical on Friday.

It is believed that Sesko will be officially unveiled by United today (Saturday, 9th August) or (at the very least) before the end of the weekend. His arrival will take the club’s spending for the summer transfer window to above £200m, following the additions of Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Diego Leon.
