Manchester United are looking to sell players now after spending more than £200m on three attacking additions, and Alejandro Garnacho is at the centre of that selling spree.
After completely falling out with Ruben Amorim at the end of the season, Alejandro Garnacho finds himself among the players exiled from the squad.
From the five exiled initially, only Marcus Rashford has managed to find a move, and Garnacho’s stubbornness with his “Chelsea or nothing” stance isn’t helping matters.
However, things change in the transfer market, and for Garnacho, they might have taken a turn for the worse. Man Utd will bear the cost of a player not being open to different moves.

Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea could be in peril
So far, United and Alejandro Garnacho were holding onto the hope that Chelsea were interested in Garnacho as well, albeit as a last-day gamble for cheap.
Amorim had warned clubs that players who have been exiled won’t be sold for cheap, so Garnacho agreeing on personal terms with Chelsea really means nothing.
If Chelsea and Man Utd were far apart on their valuation of the player, then that distance might just increase further because Chelsea have a new transfer priority.
Despite signing approximately a hundred players in the last two summers or so, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has declared that he wants a new centre-back.

He said: “It is a priority [signing a new defender] for me. Levi is a fantastic player. What we achieved last season is because of him. We are going to miss him. We are also trying to find different solutions.”
This comes after Levi Colwill picked up a serious injury that will keep him out for a long time, thereby having a domino effect on Garnacho’s future.
Chelsea were already negotiating with Xavi Simons alongside Garnacho, but now that a centre-back is on the priority list as well, it remains to be seen how much funds they free up for a player who they are clearly looking at as a risk-free gamble for cheap anyway.
Garnacho is likely a selling asset for Chelsea
Chelsea have turned player trading into another art form altogether, and looking at their attacking ranks at the time of writing, it is difficult to see how Garnacho fits in anywhere near the starting lineup, especially if Simons is added to it.
They are likely looking at Garnacho as a player who they can buy on the cheap right now due to United’s circumstances and Amorim falling out with him.
Then, they can sell him on for profit in a year or two, like they seem to be doing with so many of the players signed recently.
It defies logic that Garnacho is failing to realise the same, and is digging his heels for a move to a club that will likely re-route him away from England in a few years anyway.
United can’t give in and bow down to Chelsea’s valuation in any scenario, especially as Garnacho, unlike Jadon Sancho, has a World Cup to aim for next season.
If the player isn’t helping United in any way, then there’s no reason why the club shouldn’t do the same.
