Amorim’s midfield hunt heats up
**Manchester Utd**’s search for a new midfield engine has taken a new twist. Their chase for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba has hit a wall. Now, the Old Trafford club is lining up other options.
One name that was on the rise was Javi Guerra. The Valencia midfielder has put together a really solid two seasons in La Liga. According to reports, Guerra was keen to make the move and had already agreed personal terms.
The Red Devils’ have been busy this window. Meanwhile, Brighton slapped a huge £100m valuation on Baleba. That said, Man Utd may have to look for smarter business elsewhere in the summer window. That is where Guerra came in. But, Valencia have reportedly offered him a new contract.

Valencia star signs new deal amidst Man United interest
The journey of the Spaniard has been incredible. Guerra made most of the appearances in La Liga during the last two years.
For the Red Devils, Guerra might have been an asset to a midfield that is looking a bit tired. Casemiro’s influence is not as secure as it was. Head coach Ruben Amorim is often managing his minutes as well.
Guerra has energy, defensive work rate and fast attacking play. The midfielder has hunger and tactical discipline. That could’ve allowed him to be the type of player that plenty of PL clubs would want to have in their squad.
Now, Man United will likely try to get someone like Javi Guerra at a reasonable price tag. Had the move go through, it would have been one of the best signings of the summer transfer window.
