Harvey Elliott is reportedly on the brink of sealing a switch from Liverpool to RB Leipzig after reaching an agreement on personal terms, according to the latest reports.

The Bundesliga outfit had initiated discussions to secure his signature following Elliott's impressive summer displays for England U-21s, where he starred in their tournament triumph and claimed the Player of the Tournament accolade.

The 22-year-old, who found first-team chances hard to come by under Arne Slot, appears destined for a move to Leipzig. The Mirror reports that Elliott has committed to a four-year deal, with Jurgen Klopp thought to have been instrumental in Leipzig's pursuit of the midfielder.

It was the former Liverpool manager who lured the creative talent to Anfield from Fulham back in 2019.

Spurs have also been touted as potential suitors for Elliott as they seek a replacement for James Maddison, but would need to move swiftly to derail the proposed transfer.

Aston Villa were initially considered favourites to land Elliott, whilst Newcastle United and Brighton had also registered keen interest, though Leipzig have now positioned themselves as the leading contenders.

Speaking during the Reds' pre-season tour of Asia, the midfielder was candid about his situation at the club.

Elliott told The Anfield Wrap: "If I had it my way I would be here for the rest of my career, it's as simple as that.
