Just in: Fabrizio Romano says Tottenham have made bid to sign ''absolute baller'

Tottenham have submitted a €50m (£43m) offer for Manchester City winger Savinho, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The Europa League winners have reportedly tabled an initial proposal for the Brazilian winger, although it is likely to be rejected by City, who are seeking a higher fee.

Negotiations are ongoing between the two Premier League clubs, with City open to selling Savinho, praised as an 'absolute baller', but only on their own terms.

The 21-year-old winger is believed to be keen on a move to North London, and Romano claims the deal is ‘absolutely on’, with Tottenham now pushing to complete the signing before the September 1 deadline.

Romano, writing on X, has revealed that Tottenham have tabled a £43m bid for Savinho, with Man City open to selling the Brazilian winger.

Thomas Frank is believed to have identified Savinho as an ‘ideal’ reinforcement for his attacking options following former captain Son Heung-min’s departure to MLS side Los Angeles FC.

The Brazilian winger would bring versatility to North London, as he is able to play on either flank, and considerable Premier League experience, having made 29 appearances for City last term.

Previous reports indicated a deal for Savinho could cost around £70m, which would make him Tottenham’s most expensive signing, surpassing the £65m they spent on Dominic Solanke last summer.

The Lilywhites have spent £55m on Mohammed Kudus this summer and have also secured permanent deals for Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel.

Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha became the latest arrival last week, joining on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

Spurs remain on the lookout for late signings following Son’s departure to LAFC and James Maddison’s injury, which is expected to sideline him for around six to seven months.

The England international suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the pre-season draw against Newcastle in South Korea earlier this month and could miss the entire 2025/26 campaign.
