Manchester City begin their Premier League campaign with a trip to Molineux to face Wolves on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola’s side won four consecutive top flight titles before last season, when they struggled and had to rely on an impressive run of form towards the end of the campaign to finish third and secure Champions League qualification.
City went without a trophy last term and have since suffered a surprise early elimination from the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, and Guardiola will therefore be desperate to see his side improve when the new season starts.
The Citizens have bolstered Guardiola’s squad with a number of new signings, although Kevin De Bruyne is among those to have departed The Etihad since the end of last season.
Now, it has emerged that another star could soon be on his way out of the club.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur are in talks to sign winger Savinho from Man City.

He claims that the North London side are already in negotiations to sign the Brazil international, who would be willing to join Spurs if the two clubs can reach an agreement.
Savinho, 21, joined City from Troyes last summer and featured 48 times during his debut season in Manchester, scoring three goals and providing 13 assists.
He started just 21 of City’s 38 Premier League games, however, and it appears that Tottenham are now attempting to lure the player to London.
Romano also claims that new Spurs boss Thomas Frank is an admirer of the winger and has indicated to those in charge of the club’s recruitment that he would be an ideal signing.
Savinho, a 13-time Brazil international, is under contract at City until the end of the 2028/29 season.
