Report: Wolves now make formal approach to Chelsea over potential double transfer deal

There are just six days to go until Wolves get their 2025/26 Premier League campaign underway, and fans are hoping for new faces this week.

Wolves have brought in just three new players so far this summer, but have offloaded many more.

Vitor Pereira needs more new recruits in order to head into the new season with a competitive squad.

At the moment, many supporters are concerned about the state of play, and certainly, it’s a big week for the newly restructured recruitment team.

Wolves potentially need at least three new signings – and that is not accounting to other players who could yet leave. For example, Wolves will hear offers for Hwang Hee-chan.

Also, Sam Johnstone could yet leave Wolves, with Jose Sa the clear number one at Molineux.

So it’s potentially going to be a busy end to the window.

And this morning, it’s been claimed Wolves are now making an approach for two players from Chelsea.

It has been claimed by Caught Offside that Wolves have now made an approach to sign both Axel Disasi and David Datro Fofana from Chelsea.

Wolves were suggested as a potential next destination for Disasi last week, with the defender seemingly surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

Wolves were then credited with an interest in Fofana, who spent last season out on loan at Goztepe, although he missed most of the second half of the season through injury.

Caught Offside say that a formal approach has now been made by Wolves over both players.

But it’s mentioned that Napoli and Ligue 1 side Rennes are both also in the hunt for Disasi.

And Fofana is attracting attention from Stuttgart and Nice.

Chelsea’s asking prices for Disasi and Fofana

It is rare these days for Wolves to target players from other Premier League clubs.

So links to Disasi and Fofana may be seen by some fans as a nice change of pace.

But there is perhaps a reason why Wolves prefer to look further afield for new players, and that reason is that asking prices for players in the English top-flight can be very high, especially at the top clubs.

Caught Offside say that Chelsea would want around £25-30 million for Disasi.

And for Fofana, the Blues would be looking for around £15 million.

Quite simply, if there is any truth in that, this could make any double deal a non-starter for Wolves. Certainly, the price for Disasi is high and Wolves don’t tend to spend that much on a single player these days.

Fofana’s asking price is more modest, but still high for a player who missed a lot of football last season. He’d perhaps be the more likely of the two, but Wolves would surely want both players for a lot cheaper.
