The latest Man City transfer news with a huge loan exit agreed ahead of the new Premier League season.

The 29-year-old has been expected to leave the club this summer after he fell out of favour under Pep Guardiola and made just seven league starts last season. Grealish was left out of the City squad for their trip to face Fulham on the final day of last season and was not included in their squad for the Club World Cup.

Grealish was also an unused substitute as City lost the FA Cup final to Crystal Palace, when Guardiola opted to hand Claudio Echeverri his debut from the bench, rather than turn to the player they signed for £100 million four years ago. Grealish made it clear he wanted a fresh start in his playing career this summer, and he is now poised to join Everton for the forthcoming season.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Grealish deal

Jack Grealish would have preferred a permanent exit from Man City this summer, but he has accepted his best chance of regular playing time will come on loan at Everton. In an ideal world, he would have joined a Champions League club such as Tottenham Hotspur or Newcastle, though he hopes to rejuvenate his career as a star performer for Everton in their first season at their new home stadium.

Grealish knows he must play regular football if he is to have an outside chance of an England recall for next summer's World Cup, while a positive season with Everton could also earn him a more favourable transfer next year as well. The 29-year-old does not lack confidence and will be eager to prove Guardiola and his doubters wrong after he played a sporadic role last season.

Taking to social media on Monday morning, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed Grealish had agreed to the Merseyside move and that a medical has already been booked. If everything goes according to plan, he could be unveiled as a new Everton signing on Tuesday and make his debut for the club when they face Leeds in the Premier League next Monday night.

"EXCL: Jack Grealish to Everton, here we go! Loan deal agreed with Man City and medical booked later today," Romano posted on X. "Grealish said yes to #EFC project and he’s now set to complete his move in next 24 hours. New addition for David Moyes."
