Jack Grealish set for Premier League switch as deal agreed

Jack Grealish is set to undergo a medical ahead of completed a move to Everton, talkSPORT understands.

The Toffees have agreed a deal with Manchester City to sign the winger on a season-long loan.

Grealish's switch could now be sealed within the next 24 hours ahead of the new Premier League season.

Everton kick-off their campaign away to newly-promoted Leeds on August 18.

The 29-year-old will become David Moyes' sixth summer signing at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Thierno Barry and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's arrivals have seen their spending surpass the £75million mark.

Grealish had previously been attracting interest from Tottenham as well as clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia.

However, he has opted to stay in the Premier League as he looks to earn a recall to the England squad.

Grealish's England future

Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel has not included Grealish in a squad since he took charge in January.

Having already won 39 caps, Grealish is aiming to book a place in Tuchel's side for next summer's World Cup.

talkSPORT understands the pair have held positive talks, with the player still part of Tuchel's plans if he can play regularly this season.

Grealish has not featured for his country since scoring in a win over Finland in October 2024.

Meanwhile, the former Aston Villa man had accepted his time at the Etihad Stadium was over after falling out of favour.

He was also left out of Pep Guardiola’s squad for the Club World Cup in the USA earlier this summer.

It followed just one goal in 20 Premier League appearances last term as City finished third in the table.

Cascarino on Everton move

Everton will now provide Grealish the platform to recapture his best form, with Tony Cascarino endorsing the move.

The talkSPORT co-host explained: "He has no option, he has to go and play and play football.

"It was initially Tottenham which is a great stadium and would really lift him and give him a new drive. I think Everton would do the same with their new stadium.

"If you look at Thomas Frank and David Moyes they’re managers who get more out of players and turn their careers around and if it was a viable option I think it would be a great move to go to Everton.

"David Moyes admitted himself he didn’t want another relegation battle and the [Kiernan] Dewsbury-Hall signing is another one of intent of signing another exciting player who’s technically superb.

"If David Moyes has got this new idea I would see it as a golden opportunity, it’s a great club."

Grealish joined City for a then British record £100million from Aston Villa in August 2021.

He has since won seven major trophies including the three league titles and the treble.
