Club have draft agreement for Brighton player – Everton and Sunderland also in chase

Over the past two months, Brighton’s Matt O’Riley has been linked with multiple Italian clubs. Juventus are the latest Serie A outfit to be interested, and there is said to be competition from Nottingham Forest, Sunderland and Everton.

TuttoSport report today that early in August, Juve had only made initial contact to explore the Dane’s situation.

Now, they are getting serious for the Brighton midfielder and have a draft agreement over personal terms. O’Riley will sign a five-year deal worth €3m per season, if he joins the Old Lady. He has apparently expressed a willingness to join the Italian giants.

In the meantime, Everton, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland are threatening the Bianconeri’s pursuit.

Igor Tudor’s side are awaiting the sales of Nico Gonzalez, Douglas Luiz and Fabio Miretti to make a formal offer to Brighton for O’Riley, but this is giving competitors a chance.

Everton are particularly interested in the 24-year-old, but both Nottingham Forest and Sunderland have already made initial contact.

A lot can now depend on Evangelos Marinakis’ club because of their interest in Douglas Luiz. If Nottingham Forest end up landing the Brazilian, Juve can use the money to sign O’Riley.
