Arsenal’s move for Eberechi Eze is edging closer to completion, with Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish hinting at the winger’s potential departure following the Eagles’ Community Shield win over Liverpool.
The 26-year-old played a key role in Palace’s 2-2 draw before they sealed a 3-2 penalty shootout victory at Wembley. Behind the scenes, Arsenal have already agreed a financial package and personal terms with Eze, who is waiting for the final step, Palace securing a replacements before making the switch to the Emirates.

Speaking after the Community Shield triumph, Parish was asked if lifting silverware could help persuade Eze and other key players, such as Marc Guehi, to stay. His response was telling.
“Players come and go in football clubs. I mean, it’s a life cycle isn’t it?” Parish said, before adding: “Hopefully they’ll still be here, that’s what I’d like.”

The remark falls in line with Football Transfers’ report that Palace are prepared to let Eze leave if the right replacement is found, a stance Arsenal are capitalising on.

Sources indicate Arsenal will pay €63.5 million for Eze, with €30 million up front and the rest spread in instalments. The deal represents strong value for the Gunners, with the player’s current Estimated Transfer Value sitting at €54 million.
While Palace are reluctant to lose one of their most influential players, there is recognition of the platform Arsenal can provide, Champions League football, a Premier League title challenge, and the opportunity for Eze to showcase his talent ahead of the World Cup.
Final hurdle remains
Palace’s priority is to line up a suitable replacement before sanctioning the move. For Arsenal, securing Eze would complete a high-profile summer that has already seen the arrivals of Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, and Noni Madueke. Mikel Arteta views Eze’s versatility and direct play as key weapons for the season ahead.
With three huge fixtures looming including Liverpool on 31 August, Arsenal are eager to finalise the transfer quickly, ensuring Arteta has his full squad ready for the Premier League’s early tests.
