Manager Mikel Arteta praised the striker’s debut goal after the game. “His movement, the way he times his runs, the way he predicts the next move and where the space can be and where the ball is going to land, that’s the instinct that he has. That’s why he’s scored so many goals in the last few seasons,” Arteta said.

He continued: “He can pin the centre-halves back and when you leave him with space, one against one, he’s going to destroy you.”
Gyokeres’ movement, work rate, and instinctive positioning were all on show against Bilbao, with his headed finish offering another dimension to Arsenal’s attacking threat.
Focus shifts to Manchester United clash
Arsenal now have one week to prepare for their trip to Old Trafford. Gyokeres is expected to start, tasked with leading the line in a high-profile season opener that could set the tone for the campaign ahead.
For the Emirates faithful, the sight of their new forward already finding the net is a promising sign and Gyokeres himself seems ready to make an immediate impact when the real tests begin.
