[Albion](https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/) could face Jack Grealish in their first away game of the season.
The Manchester City star appears poised for a loan move to Everton.
Albion visit the Hill Dickinson Stadium for its first competitive fixture a week on Sunday.
Multiple sources both nationally and on Merseyside expect Grealish to be on board for the new campaign.
Everton have options in Grealish’s positions on the left or behind the frontman but the England international is a proven matchwinner.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall played as No.10 against Roma on Saturday as Everton created numerous chances but lost 1-0.
Striker Thierno Barry is also on board from Villarreal for £27 million.
Seagulls fans will recall Grealish having a good record against their side in his Aston Villa days, including a late goal which cost them the Championship title in 2016-17.
But he has not scored against them in four appearances for City.
Grealish made only seven league starts last season and did not feature in either match against Albion.
Everton open their season at promoted Leeds on Saturday.
Their new stadium received good reviews after the Roma game and there were signs of promise on the pitch.
But they were beaten by a Matias Soule curler on 70 minutes.
On-loan Albion man Evan Ferguson started on the bench for Roma and joined the action on 80 minutes.
Everton lost left-back Vitalii Mykolenko to injury during the game but the severity was unclear.
