Liverpool only want to bid again for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak if the Magpies make it clear they are not wasting their time, according to journalist and transfer insider Ben Jacobs.
The disgruntled Newcastle star wants to swap the St James’ Park club for the Anfield club this summer, but Liverpool saw their £110 million bid rejected last month.
The Reds have no plans to return with a bid except the Toons indicate an interest to sell having done so earlier in the summer only to change their minds.
Liverpool’s position on Alexander Isak remains the same.
There has been no further bid, approach or significant interaction yet following a rejected offer of £110m.

Isak has been told by the Newcastle board that he is not for sale this summer and will not be allowed to join Liverpool, which has angered him, according to the Telegraph.
However, this saga is expected to go on until the last few days of the summer transfer window, and the Reds will keep waiting to see if the Magpies change their minds.
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe does not want to keep Isak against his wishes after claiming that he prefers to have players that really want to play for the club on board.
The saga is not ending anytime soon and their defeat to Crystal Palace in the FA Community Shield yesterday could see the Merseyside club push for the signing of the Swede after Virgil van Dijk insisted following the game that they could do with more attacking reinforcements.
Isak has three more years left on his Newcastle contract, and while they do not need to sell players, this summer could be the only time they get over £100m from suitors for his services.
Liverpool and others are unlikely to be willing to pay that much for him next summer and it is best for both parties to part ways now.
