Man Utd begin the Premier League season at home to Arsenal this weekend and here is the latest team and injury news.

Manchester United have been handed a huge double injury boost ahead of their Premier League opener against Arsenal this weekend. Ruben Amorim's kickstart their campaign when they host the Gunners at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, with kick-off at 4:30pm BST.

United will hope for a positive start to the new league season and are set to be boosted by the return of two key players to their first-team squad. Andre Onana and Joshua Zirkzee both took part in training over the weekend, while summer signing Benjamin Sesko took part in his first session for the club.

Neither Onana or Zirkzee played any part in the recent pre-season tour of the US, though they both did travel Stateside to continue their rehabilitation from their respective injuries. The pair are both expected to return to the squad against Arsenal this weekend, with Onana likely to start in goal.

United academy hopefuls Jaydan Kamason, James Scanlon, Ethan Williams, Rhys Bennett, Bendito Mantato, Jacob Devaney, Zachary Baumann and Ethan Ennis were also involved in the first-team session. The U21s face Tamworth on Wednesday night before the U18s face Everton at the weekend.

Onana expected to return vs Arsenal

Andre Onana has targeted a return against Arsenal after a hamstring injury forced him to miss the entire pre-season schedule for Manchester United. The 29-year-old did not feature against Fiorentina at the weekend, with his full focus on a return to the starting line up this weekend.

Onana did not play in any of the five summer friendlies but stepped up his training regime in Chicago and returned to goalkeeper training at Carrington. Ruben Amorim is still open to adding a goalkeeper to his squad in the final three weeks of the summer window but Onana is expected to remain at the club for another season.

It means Altay Bayindir could be replaced if an acceptable offer comes in, while Tom Heaton will remain as the third-choice goalkeeper. Radek Vitek has enjoyed a bright start to life on loan at Bristol City and was awarded their Man of the Match after a stunning 4-1 win over Sheffield United at the weekend.
