Grealish’s Everton medical date ‘revealed’ as Man City ‘agree’ to imminent exit

Everton have reportedly reached an agreement with Manchester City over a deal to sign Jack Grealish this summer.

Four years on from his £100m transfer from Aston Villa to the Etihad Stadium, Grealish is now considered surplus to requirements under Citizens manager Pep Guardiola after falling down the pecking order last season.

Sports Mole understands that Tottenham Hotspur submitted an enquiry for the 29-year-old soon after James Maddison suffered an ACL injury in pre-season.

However, Everton are believed to have held a strong interest in Grealish throughout this summer and recently 'ramped up' their efforts to sign City’s No.10 after entering club-to-club talks earlier this month.

Now, journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that Everton have agreed to sign Grealish on loan from Man City and the player has said yes to the project under David Moyes.

Romano adds that Grealish is scheduled to undergo a medical later today (Monday) before finalising his move to he Hill Dickinson Stadium within the next 24 hours.

Everton set to beat Spurs to Grealish loan signing

Grealish is seemingly prepared to sacrifice playing in European competition next season in order to join Everton where he will hope to feature regularly and impress England boss Thomas Tuchel, as he attempts to force his way back into the Three Lions squad for the 2026 World Cup.

The left-sided attacker, who was omitted from Guardiola's 22-man pre-season squad for last weekend's 3-0 friendly win over Palermo, was limited to only seven Premier League starts last season and many will argue that he has a point to prove after failing to elevate his game to a new level since impressing in Man City’s 2022-23 treble-winning campaign.

Moyes will be tasked with getting the best out of Grealish and remains hopeful that more fresh faces can be added to his Toffees squad following the departure of 12 players earlier this summer.

Everton, who finished 13th in the Premier League last season, have spent in excess of £70m to sign five players so far this summer, with midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall the most recent player to arrive after Thierno Barry, Mark Travers, Carlos Alcaraz and Adam Aznou.

It remains to be seen whether the potential arrival of Grealish will impact Everton’s pursuit of highly-rated youngster Tyler Dibling, with Southampton having already rejected multiple bids from the Toffees for the £45m-rated attacker.

The fact that Everton appear to have won the race to sign Grealish over Tottenham has seemingly resulted in Thomas Frank’s side swiftly turning their attention to another Man City attacker in the form of Savinho, as talks have allegedly been held over an 'unexpected' permanent move to North London for the Brazilian winger.
