The German scored a respectable 11 in 38 last season and at 23, he can only get better.
Uncertainty reigns in West London as Brentford take their first steps into the unknown.
It was only a matter of time before another club came calling for Thomas Frank and after seven joyful years, the Dane left for what might just be the most thankless job in management: Tottenham Hotspur.
Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, Antonio Conte and Ange Postecoglou were all found wanting at White Hart Lane and only time will tell if Frank will regret moving north of the River Thames.
Brentford have looked within to replace the popular Dane, naming former Republic of Ireland international Keith Andrews as his replacement.

Part of the Bees' first-team coaching staff since July 2024, Andrews has never held a position as head coach or manager but his lack of experience hasn't deterred decision makers at the Gtech Community Stadium.
“Keith is a very good fit,” said director of football Phil Giles to the club website.
“He gets on with everyone, he’s very open and he’s a learner. Keith is clear in what he wants, he’s detailed, and the players and staff like and respect him.
“He understands the players in the building and the way we’ve played and trained under Thomas Frank.
“Keith will bring his own evolution but isn’t starting from scratch, so hopefully we can make some quick progress.
“He’s a very good coach and has clear ideas about how he wants the team to improve. We were looking for somebody not just to maintain what we’ve been doing but actually try and get better.”
Andrews' former colleagues Justin Cochrane, Chris Haslam and Joe Newton have followed Frank to Spurs, leaving the Bees with a new-look backroom staff.
Martin Drury is the new No.2, joined by former Arsenal u-21 head coach Mehmet Ali and ex-Brentford B head coach Neil MacFarlane.
Changes at the club haven't been restricted to the dugout, with the long-serving Christian Nørgaard making the switch to Arsenal after six years in West London, including two as captain.
The former skipper departs with big shoes to fill after establishing himself as a fan-favourite, with the Bees turning to 84-cap England international and former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson as his replacement.
Henderson returns to the Premier League after brief spells abroad in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ettifaq and in the Netherlands with Ajax.

The 35-year-old has won almost everything there is to win at club level with Liverpool and while it may be too much to expect him to start week-in, week-out, his experience is second to none.
“I’m delighted that I’m here; I’m very excited to get started and get going," said Henderson to brentfordfc.com.
“I’ve always had huge admiration for the club and what they’ve achieved over the last few years, in particular, how they’ve grown as a club.
“I’ve been told how organised and well-run the club is, it’s very family-oriented, which I think is very important.
“When I spoke to Phil Giles, Lee Dykes and Keith, I just had a really good feeling about everything. As soon as I had that conversation, it was clear for me that I wanted to come here and it was an easy decision in the end.
“I try my best to pass on my experiences, especially to the younger players. But, at the same time, I still need to perform and do my job on the pitch.
“It’s a given that I’ll help everybody around me but, even at my age, you can still learn a lot, you can still improve, and you can still get better, which is what I want to do at this club.”
Henderson is reunited with three of his former Liverpool colleagues - Fabio Carvalho, Sepp van den Berg and CaoimhĂn Kelleher, with the latter joining last June to replace Mark Flekken in goal.
Further up the pitch, Netherlands U-21 international Antoni Milambo bolsters a frontline reeling from the loss of club favourite Bryan Mbeumo who has moved to Manchester United for ÂŁ65m in a club-record sale.
His fellow forward Yoane Wissa is also in demand and Brentford would do well to convince the Congolese international his future is best served by staying put.
However that plays out, what's known for certain is that Nottingham Forest are first on the calendar, with a trip to the City Ground marked for August 17.
The first home game of the season is six days later against Aston Villa, while the first west London derby is on September 13 when Brentford host Chelsea, followed by a visit to Fulham on September 20.
A festive treat is in store on December 20 when Brentford welcome Thomas Frank and Spurs to the Gtech Community Stadium for the first time.
By that point it should be apparent if Andrews has proven a capable replacement.
