Everton are now eyeing a move to sign Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu after a move for Southampton's Tyler Dibling stalled, according to journalist Alan Myers.
The Toffees were pushing to sign Southampton youngster Dibling, but reports emerged on Monday morning that they have moved on to explore other targets, with the Saints demanding more than they'd be willing to pay. Signing a right winger is understandably an immediate priority for Everton after Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom both left the club earlier in the summer, with their loan spells at the Merseyside club expiring.
GIVEMESPORT Senior Reporter Fabrizio Romano also recently confirmed that Everton have agreed a deal to sign Manchester City winger Jack Grealish on loan for the season. The England international looks set to join Thierno Barry, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Mark Travers, Adam Aznou, and Carlos Alcaraz as new additions for the Toffees in the summer transfer window.

Now, journalist Myers has claimed that Everton are interested in signing Leicester City winger Fatawu...
Fatawu, described as 'special' by Leicester supporter and pundit Gary Lineker and compared to Arsenal's Bukayo Saka, has recently recovered from a serious knee injury, but he's looked sharp for the Foxes during pre-season. The tricky winger also started Leicester's first game of the Championship campaign.
Fatawu is a natural right-sided winger, and he could be the kind of profile Everton need. The addition of Dibling would have been an exciting one, but it's smart to walk away if they are unwilling to meet Southampton's valuation for the youngster. Fatawu is a similar profile to Dibling in terms of his age, but he's likely ahead of him in his development due to being slightly older.
The 21-year-old's 2024/2025 season was cut short due to injury, but he enjoyed an impressive Championship campaign before that, helping Leicester gain promotion to the Premier League. The Ghanaian winger scored six times and provided 13 assists, averaging a goal contribution almost every other game.
The Toffees face Leeds United away from home in their opening fixture on Monday, giving them plenty of time to get a few more additions through the door.
