Arsenal are showing interest in Blackburn Rovers forward Igor Tyjon. Although, he is now being offered fresh terms to remain at Ewood Park.
Blackburn to keep their striker amidst Arsenal interest
Hopes of seeing Igor Tyjon at Arsenal have dimmed as Blackburn Rovers push hard to keep hold of their star.
The young striker joined Rovers last summer. He has quickly made a name for himself in their under-21 ranks and caught the eye of England’s youth scouts. He is known for his flair and finishing touch. Tyjon has already netted four goals in 11 games for the Three Lions’ youth sides. He earned the label of an “eye-catching” talent.
The Gunners were keen to snap him up as part of their long-term strategy. But, reports suggest their approach has has hit a roadblock.

Meanwhile, Blackburn have already turned down an offer from North London. They are now preparing a new contract to secure Tyjon’s services for the foreseeable future. The offer reportedly includes a fast-track pathway into the first team. That is something that could prove tempting for a young player eager to make his mark in senior football.
Gunners’ transfer push hits wall
This setback is a little worry to Mikel Arteta’s overall recruitment push. Arsenal has been busy in the window adding players like Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, and Noni Madueke for depth.
Blackburn has a name for finding good players. Those include David Raya and Adam Wharton. So, that makes Tyjon particularly appealing.
The Gunners have to return with an improved offer to get their target. They will have to convince Tyjon to reject Blackburn’s new deal as well. Until then, the forward could remain part of the club’s next generation in Lancashire rather than London. For now, Arsenal’s hopes rest on patience and persistence. But, this chase looks set to be a tough one to win.
