Patrick Mahomes, starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, recently spilled the beans on what went on with his dad’s DWI arrest last year. Mahomes’ personal life takes the spotlight in the new docu-series ‘The Kingdom’, which is set to premiere later this week. Patrick Mahomes’ father, Pat Mahomes Sr., was arrested for a DWI in early 2024, right about when his son managed to win his third Super Bowl.

Pat Mahomes Sr. has a long history of DWIs and other traffic violations, but the one last year seemed to be the last straw. The former MLB pitcher also speaks in the show, and at one point admits that having to hear his own son answer questions about his mistakes hurt him the most. Patrick Mahomes also seemed to think the same way according to his statements in the series.
“I think just knowing that it hurt me, woke him up to know that, like you can’t keep doing the same things,” Patrick Mahomes says about his father, Pat Mahomes Sr. in ‘The Kingdom’ docu-series.
Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes will be eyeing another Super Bowl ring in the upcoming NFL season, especially after the last one was pried from his hands by the Philadelphia Eagles. Mahomes and the Chiefs were originally hoping to become the first ever team in the NFL to score a three-peat. However, the Eagles had other ideas and managed to lift the Lombardi trophy. The three-time Super Bowl winner and the Chiefs will be hoping to change things for the better in the 2025 NFL campaign.

Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs Suffer Terrible Start To Preseason
On another note, Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs’ preseason opener did not go as planned as the team lost to the Arizona Cardinals over the weekend. The Chiefs were defeated with a final 20-17 score with Mahomes throwing only one touchdown pass to Jason Brownlee before being benched.

Of course, the whole intention of the preseason games is mainly to let the rookies and debutants prove themselves. Therefore, it is understandable that Mahomes was sidelined to allow him to rest before the regular season officially kicks off next month. Still, fans were excited to see Mahomes play in all readiness to bring home another Super Bowl win for the team. The Chiefs will hope to do better in their second preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks next week.
