FPL Tips – Must Have Chelsea Players

With the FPL deadline just days away and pre-season friendlies behind us now is as good a time as any to recommend some Fantasy Premier League picks. This article will focus on the best Chelsea players to put in your team based on both the Club World Cup and the wins over Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan over the weekend.

Must Have Chelsea Players in Your FPL Team

Moises Caicedo

The midfielder’s dominance doesn’t often translate to the world of fantasy football, but some additions to this year’s scoring system could make him an unstoppable force. Defensive contributions and ball recoveries are now going to earn points, something the Ecuadorian excels at.

Over the last year, Caicedo has ranked in 91st percentile for tackles per 90, 78th for interceptions, 66th for blocks, and 57th for clearances. He’s an all-action midfielder who plays a defensive role that will earn points this season.

Joao Pedro

The former Brighton & Hove Albion man has been on fire since making the move across England. In just five appearances for his new club hes netted five goals, including in the CWC final against Paris Saint-Germain. He has managed this impressive feat in very few minutes, averaging one every 50 minutes.

The Brazilian hasn’t gotten to showcase this side of his game yet but he also ranks in the 92nd percentile among forwards for expected assists per 90. With his goalscoring touch and his proven ability to create chances, he could be the highest point scorer in the entire Blues squad.

Cole Palmer

Pretty obvious, Cole Palmer has been one of the world’s best since his move to Chelsea. His output is absurd with 43 goals and 29 assists in just 97 appearances for the club. He is a nailed-on starter and will generate fantasy points no matter what.

He may be a stronger addition than expected in the upcoming campaign. Recent tactical adjustments from Enzo Maresca have freed up the attacker who put PSG to the sword and was pulling strings in pre-season. The addition of other attacking talents to share the burden could free up the Englishman to have his best season yet for FPL players.

Potential Bargain – Tosin Adarabioyo

The ACL injury to Levi Colwill opens the door to a real value signing. Veteran Tosin Adarabioyo will now be guaranteed more minutes instead of sharing the workload with Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana. Even Fofana isn’t a guaranteed starter due to his own fitness issues, meaning Tosin could be in for even more minutes than expected.

The Blues actually developed a pretty solid defensive stance towards the end of last season, if they can carry that over to this year then their defenders could provide some clean sheet points as well as defensive contributions.

Potential Bargain – Andrey Santos

The newcomer isn’t super expensive but he could provide a lot of FPL value. With Romeo Lavia’s ongoing fitness issues, he’s the third in line for a midfield spot. With international breaks, Champions League commitments, and cups, he’s likely to be rotated in a lot during the season.

He’s likely to get some defensive contribution scores but he will also get assists. He made an excellent pass for Liam Delap to score against AC Milan which we could see him replicate during the term. Last campaign in Ligue 1, he had 14 goal contributions from midfield, which he could replicate in blue.
