Grealish, who left Villa for Man City in a British record transfer deal of £100m back in August 2021, has won three Premier League titles in Manchester, as well as an FA Cup and a Champions League.
But the 29-year-old has grown increasingly frustrated with a lack of game time at City.
He was left out of their squad for the final Premier League game of last season - as well as missing the Club World Cup.
He only made seven starts last season - and his future ahs been the subject of much speculation this summer.
Now it looks as though his immediate future may be elsewhere, with talks progressing over a move to Everton on a season long loan deal.
In the past it was reported that a move back to Villa Park may be a possibility and in June it was stated Grealish did want a permanent move from City, amid links to clubs in Italy.
However, a loan move now to Everton looks to be the most likely destination for the former Villa captain.
