Leeds United could be forced to eventually sack Daniel Farke as Premier League survival becomes a necessity.

The Whites have returned to the English top flight after a two-year absence, and the 49ers Enterprises will be looking to avoid relegation.

Paraag Marathe backed Farke after winning the Championship, as concerns were raised about the German manager’s future in LS11.

Opta’s supercomputer has predicted a 19th-place Premier League finish at Elland Road, and gloomy days seem to be ahead in West Yorkshire.

Leeds United will be 20th in Premier League by Christmas

Leeds may have a new manager by late December due to their struggles in the league, Simon Hughes says.

The journalist predicted in The Athletic (11 August) that he feels the Whites will be bottom of the table by Christmas, eventually leading to Farke’s sacking.

Hughes also expects Arsenal to be at the top in the Premier League midway through the season, although he doesn’t fancy them to win the title.

Farke has managed 49 games in the English top flight.

The German manager has won just six Premier League games in his career.

All three promoted teams were relegated to the Championship last season.

If the West Yorkshire outfit do struggle to pick up enough points in the coming months, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the 49ers take drastic measures at Elland Road.

Farke’s Premier League record with Norwich City serves as an example for Leeds, which was one of the reasons he was being linked with an exit at the end of the previous campaign.

The German manager won promotion with the Canaries twice, but went down with them in the 2019/20 season and was sacked in November 2021 after a poor start in the top flight.

Who could replace Farke at Leeds?

Jose Mourinho emerged as an option at Elland Road recently, and the Fenerbahce manager has the required Premier League pedigree to take charge in LS11.

Someone like Sean Dyche could potentially be on Leeds’ radar due to his reputation in English football for playing pragmatic football and avoiding relegation.

Marco Rose has been in the Red Bull system, most recently managing RB Leipzig, and he may be approached if Farke leaves.

Supporters will hope the 49ers back the 48-year-old head coach in the transfer market to give him the best chance of establishing the Whites in the Premier League again.
